About Dreux

Dreux Denny is a Denver-based Super 8 videographer, 35mm film photographer, and visual artist specializing in nostalgic, cinematic storytelling through analog film. Working primarily with Super 8 motion picture film and 35mm photography, he creates timeless imagery for weddings, family sessions, concerts, portraits, short films, and creative collaborations. His work embraces the texture, warmth, and imperfections of film to preserve life’s fleeting moments with authenticity.

Originally from Lansing, Michigan, Dreux now lives in Denver, Colorado, where he is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work at Metropolitan State University of Denver with plans to earn a Master’s degree and become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). His long-term goal is to practice as a trauma-informed therapist while continuing to create meaningful work through photography, filmmaking, and the arts.
Alongside his visual practice, Dreux is a self-published poet whose collections include Sinciput (2022), Time Slips Away Like Falling Coins (2023), Sometimes a Memory (2024), and Dovesong (2026). He also co-creates the ongoing collaborative poetry zine World of Fog with fellow poet Jaxon Kolhoff. Beyond writing, he is an avid oil painter whose artistic practice informs the emotional tone and composition of his photography and films.

His work is heavily influenced by filmmaker Harmony Korine, the neo-expressionist paintings of Julius Nordvinter and Jean-Michel Basquiat, the photography of Dash Snow, and the writing of Missouri Williams. These influences shape a body of work rooted in memory, intimacy, nostalgia, and the beauty found in everyday imperfection.
